Registrations for the 2008 RAIA National Architecture Conference ‘Critical Visions’ are now open. Critical Visions will run from Thursday 10 to Saturday 12 April 2008 at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre. An exciting and ambitious event is planned, featuring many high-profile international and Australian architects and academics. The conference will explore pressing contemporary architectural issues through presentations, panel discussion, jury critique and debate.

Calvin will give a presentation and round table discussion on the activities he was undertaking at the United States General Services Administration, Public Buildings Service, Office of the Chief Architect on their National 3D-4D-BIM Program. Calvin is a distinguished member of the CIFE, Stanford Alumni, having recently completed working with the GSA, and now working for a major construction organisation in San Francisco.

Event 22nd IAI International Summit, Brisbane (Queensland Department of Public Works, 80 George St., Brisbane, from Nov 12, 2007 08:30 AM to Nov 16, 2007 04:30 PM)
The international members of the International Alliance for Interoperability (IAI) will meet in Brisbane in November for the 22nd Summit of the organisation. The International Technical Committee (ITM) will meet from Monday 12 to Tuesday 13th November. On Tuesday 13th a parallel session for Government will be held in the afternoon, featuring national building agencies from Norway, Finland, Singapore and the USA, as well as Australian government initiatives such as the eDA project. An industry day will be held on Wednesday 14th November at Queensland Department of Public Works featuring international experts, IFC project case studies etc. The International Council will meet on Thursday 15th to Friday 16th November.

The IAI-AC will hold a face to face board meeting in Auckland and will combine this with an industry event back to back with the meeting. We are looking forward to meeting many of the NZ industry discuss progress of the IAI's mission to work smarter.

The IAI Australasia Chapter, in co-operation with Construction Information Ltd and NZIA, will hold an industry meeting to review current progress with the adoption of BIM and the use of the interoperability standard IFC. The meeting is intended for all sections of the construction industry, clients and owners, designers, builders, facility managers and product manufacturers and suppliers.

Event IAI-ISG Certification Workshop & ISG Meeting, Helsinki (Helsinki, from May 21, 2007 10:00 AM to May 23, 2007 04:00 PM)
The IAI-Implementer Support Group (ISG) will hold a follow-up meeting to the 2x3 Workshop in Boston. The Helsinki meeting will review documented items from the Boston workshop, and undertake continuing 1st and 2nd Step certifications for current and new software. ISG will hold a meeting on the 23rd.
