22nd IAI International Summit, Brisbane

- The international members of the International Alliance for Interoperability (IAI) will meet in Brisbane in November for the 22nd Summit of the organisation. The International Technical Committee (ITM) will meet from Monday 12 to Tuesday 13th November. On Tuesday 13th a parallel session for Government will be held in the afternoon, featuring national building agencies from Norway, Finland, Singapore and the USA, as well as Australian government initiatives such as the eDA project. An industry day will be held on Wednesday 14th November at Queensland Department of Public Works featuring international experts, IFC project case studies etc. The International Council will meet on Thursday 15th to Friday 16th November.

- The IAI Australasia Chapter, in co-operation with Construction Information Ltd and NZIA, will hold an industry meeting to review current progress with the adoption of BIM and the use of the interoperability standard IFC. The meeting is intended for all sections of the construction industry, clients and owners, designers, builders, facility managers and product manufacturers and suppliers.

IAI-ISG Certification Workshop & ISG Meeting, Helsinki

- The IAI-Implementer Support Group (ISG) will hold a follow-up meeting to the 2x3 Workshop in Boston. The Helsinki meeting will review documented items from the Boston workshop, and undertake continuing 1st and 2nd Step certifications for current and new software. ISG will hold a meeting on the 23rd.

- You can’t run a project without exchanging information - and the way that you do this is about to be revolutionised. This event is the first buildingSMART event of 2007 to be held in Sydney, in conjunction with CIBSE. This presentation focusses on how the engineering - structural, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and civil disciplines - can exploit IFC model data. We invite engineers and other design and construction professionals to hear what is happening in Norway and elsewhere in Scandinavia with IFC based collaboration.
